Road Safety as a year success 

Among the achievements and omissions of the outgoing year Road Safety in Armenia is considered as a year success.

On the 22^nd of December the Head of the Secretariat of the National Road Safety Council of Armenia Mr. Poghos Shahinyan hosted the TV program “Urvagits” on Kentron TV. The main topic of the program was the summing-up of the results of 2010. During the program various issues of the road safety were discussed, such topics were raised as road safety audit – monitoring of the current situation and new roads (traffic-lights, pedestrian crossings, road-humps and road quality), some statistical data on the decrease of the number of RTA injuries and fatalities was presented, the comparison with other countries was done.

Also as an achievement the assessments of international organizations were presented, in particular, the Commission for Global Road Safety recognized the achievements of Armenia as well as NRSC Armenia won the Prince Michael Road Safety International AWARD 2010.
As the New Year was coming, also the problem of the drunk drivers and other similar problems were raised.

The TV program was shown for several times.
